Under South Dakota state law if you are under 18 you are required to wear a helmet. We do have a helmet waiver that we are not liable if you choose to not wear a helmet. We do provide helmets.

We do, they are $25 for the day.

We are flexible if this is discussed ahead of time. Late returns are subject to be charged for another day. Arriving late from your scheduled time does not mean 8 hours from that for a full day.

We do not cancel due to weather or give refunds due to weather.

If cancellation is made 72 hours or less, there will be no refunds and full payment of reservation is due. A $50 fee will be charged if cancelled prior to 72 hours. However, we will be happy to offer you a credit to ride another time up until November 15 of the same calendar year. No shows will be charged 100% of the reservation. NOTE THAT WE WILL NOT REFUND THE ONLINE BOOKING FEE.

A helmet, information session, map, tablet, repair kit, fire extinguisher, full tank of gas, and we wash the machine after return.

Our machines are tailored for the trails. We prefer most of your experience be offroad. They are licensed for the roads though. They can be on any road except the interstate in South Dakota.

You may bring a cooler, we do not provide one and we do not sell them.

Bring clothes for every season. The weather can change quickly at higher elevations.

All machines will come with a full tank of gas at the start of the ride.  One tank of gas should be enough for an 8-hour ride.  If more gas is needed during the day, that is at customer’s expense.  Please only fill with Premium, no ethanol, fuel.

A Galaxy tablet with the Avenza app loaded up will tell you where you are in the forest. Will provide you with a hard copy map of the Black Hills Northern region, also.  We can give ideas on locations that may be of interest to you and directions.

No, however if the machine is so covered in mud and color unidentifiable, there could be a $200 charge for washing the machine. Rules for the Black Hills National Forest are: “travel slowly through water and mud.” Absolutely NO MUD BOGGING! If caught by the Black Hills National Forest Service Police it is a ticketable offense with a steep fine!

All vehicles come with tire patch repair kit.  Staff will instruct you how to use the patch kit during the operation phase of the rental.  All tire punctures in the face of the tire are “no charge to the customer” in the event a side wall of the tire is compromised there will be $250 fee per tire.  Staff will instruct you how to navigate the rocky terrain safely.  Most years we have less than 5 side wall damages per season.

Answer is yes.  If your furry friend fits in your lap, a towel is provided for comfort.  If you need a four-seater for your furry friends to ride with multiple towels can be provided to protect seats from damage.  No extra charge for pets.

Yes, all of our vehicles come with a trunk to accommodate coolers and backpacks. Please bring your own strap to secure a cooler or backpack. Please remember the State of South Dakota considers Side x sides a vehicle that is permitted on any road, except the interstate.  With that being said, we do not allow alcohol consumption while driving our vehicles.  No smoking of tobacco or marijuana.

Spring and Fall the full windshields are installed for your comfort.  After May 24th all machines will come with Half windshields; except Can-Ams have foldable front and back windshields installed all season.

Our protection plan offers peace of mind, enabling you to focus on enjoying your excursion without excessive worry.

• Your liability is capped at $3,500 for any damage incurred during the rental period.
• If damage costs exceed $3,500, the remaining balance will be forgiven in its entirety upon payment of the $3500 deductible on the rental commencement date.
• The Adventure Protection Plan must be purchased before the rental is checked out and each plan purchased covers one machine.

Trip Insurance: Enjoy peace of mind with our trip insurance, which provides reimbursement if something unexpected happens. This coverage helps limit your loss and eases your stress, though please note it is a non-refundable fee. The price applies per rental machine and follows your booking if rescheduled within the same year, up to November 15. Please be aware that the insurance does not cover the non-refundable $50 booking deposit fee or any online booking fees you may have incurred.

Your card on file will be charged the full amount of rental after 60 minutes have passed.  You are still eligible to rent the machine but in some cases the time may not be extendable due to other customers wanting to rent the machine that day.  Full day rentals will still be expected to return on time.
